FAQ's

1. How do I book a free assessment?
Answer: Just send an email to kingsenglish121@btinternet.com and the tutor will email you back to arrange a suitable time to meet. Or you can text or phone 0796 7177 495.

2. How long will my course be and can I have lessons every day?
Answer: You can make it as long or as short as you like. We prefer new EFL students to commit to a minimum of 4 lessons at first, however, most students then extend their course. There is currently no availability for lessons every day so you may want to ask at a local language school instead if you want to do a short, intensive course. If you want just one or two lessons per week, please do get in touch.

3. What can I do if I'm on a very low wage and can't afford the fees?
Answer: Contact the tutor and ask about any special deals which might be available. Possibilities include: A reduction if you buy an exam book to study from and /or only want classes twice a month; lessons which have no self-study plan included; shared classes with a friend; or doing just conversation classes. Lessons may cost you as little as £7.50 a week, if you study with friends! It depends on the level of service you want.

4. I can't come to Charlton Kings for lessons - so how can I study?
Answer: It may be possible for the tutor to come to your home. This will incur an extra cost.

5. I work shifts so can I have a lesson time which changes every week?
Answer: This is sometimes possible. A number of students have operated with this system and it usually works out very well. Each week, we just agree a new time for the following week.

6. I work during the day so is it possible to have evening lessons?
Answer: Yes, but there are only a very limited number of places available for evening students, so book early to avoid disappointment.

7. Can I have lessons on Saturdays or Sundays?
Answer: Sorry there are no weekend lessons because sometimes the tutor has to do teacher training elsewhere.

8. Do any Kings English students ever recommend the service?
Answer: Yes, they do! A good number of new students come along because someone else they know has been happy with their English course. One of our students who has now finished her course, Elena from Ukraine, says: "My English improved as a result of the study I did, so I would definitely recommend studying with Kings English."

9. Can I take holidays anytime?
Answer: As long as you tell the tutor in advance, it should be fine to take a holiday.

10. How are lessons with Kings English 'good value'?
Answer: Firstly, the individual attention you get for 1:1 classes means that the tutor has planned a lesson with your particular needs in mind. You won't waste any time.
Secondly, you can quickly learn where your strengths and weaknesses are and work hard at improving your English in these areas.
Thirdly, the self-study programme, which regular students receive, means that you can study alone for an extra 4 - 6 hours every week in your own time. This makes incredible value when you consider that most other tutors and language schools locally do not offer such a service at this price.
Finally, you will be learning with a tutor who has many years of experience and many qualifications in teaching English. This means the service you get will be of a very high standard. All of these factors make Kings English very, very good value for money!
